We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
Church Life Ministry:
Teams of greeters, ushers, and hosts are ways of helping people feel welcome at Bethel. The Deacons of the church oversee the church life ministries and can always use a helping hand. Along with the greeters, visitor follow-up hosts are people who make initial contact with members and newcomers and seek to answer questions about the happenings at Bethel. Audio/Visual Operators, setting up for communion, reading the lessons, providing flowers for our worship services, serving on the Altar Guild Committee, Acolytes, Assisting Ministers, and New Member Sponsors are also a part of this ministry. If you enjoy serving others in a simple, yet very real way, this ministry is for you!
Fellowship and Hospitality Ministry:
Bethel likes to provide frequent opportunities for our family to come together and engage in social activities, enhancing the closeness within the body at Bethel. The Deacons of the church oversee the ministries Bethel has adopted and can always use a helping hand. Opportunities to serve include the weekly coffee hour after each service, Seasonal Meals, Fellowship Groups, Keenagers, Bowling Leagues, and Seasonal Church Events may also occur. Special Event and Intergenerational Ministries need people who can provide the “people power” to help serve at times of special need. We need people who can be available to lend a hand with setup, serving, clean up or helping in other areas of need for special receptions and church events.
Caring and Social Ministry:
Do you desire to experience serving in a social ministry first hand? The Deacons of the church oversee the ministries Bethel has adopted. Bethel provides a number of caring and social ministries such as occasional Habitat building events, Million Meals Noisy Offerings, the WHO (Winter Hospitality Overflow) Ministry, the KIT Ministry (Keeping In Touch) for people who are willing to visit shut-ins—or those needing special care. Also, watch for other community outreach projects in our newsletter.
Faith Connection Sunday school is a ministry to the preschool age through Adults on Sunday mornings September through May that welcomes anyone who would like to teach a study or assist in a class. Bethel also offers Milestone Ministry such as Confirmation, Bibles Blessings, Acolyte and First Communion Training, and High School Grad Quilt Blessing. Volunteer opportunities are teaching and assisting in the Faith Connection Sunday school and the various Seasonal Event Ministries that need “people power” to help minister to the needs of our Bethel family and community that allow us to discuss issues of faith and values.
The Trustees are committed to maintaining the usability and appearance of our church building, its properties and grounds. Opportunities to serve include, repair, cleaning, and general maintenance of the building and its properties in an individual or group effort. Mowing and weeding and cemetery upkeep are also a part of this ministry.
Stewardship and Finance Ministry
Trustees are committed to maintaining the personnel, stewardship education, and finances of the church. Opportunities to serve include the Stewardship, Audit, Budget, and Finance Committees.
Administration and Leadership Ministry
Our Parish Administrator is dedicated to serving Bethel by providing the congregation with layouts for bulletins and publications. Opportunities to help serve the office needs are telephoning, assembling newsletters, mailings, and seasonal publications. There is also the need for serving on the church council as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Deacon, Education, and Trustee officers.
Designed to provide men with opportunities to encourage one another in their Christian walk and to minister to the needs of our congregation and community. This is accomplished through a monthly Men’s Breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of each month and by supporting a variety of fellowship events at Bethel and using their handyman skills on Tuesday mornings..
Gatherings are held on the 1st Saturday of each month for those who wish to grow in faith and are seeking fellowship with other Christian Women. The women offer a variety of events and activities such as Mission Quilting, Share House Quilting, setting up the coffee for Sunday services, Prayer Chain, Wedding and Funeral Receptions. Naomi and Priscilla Circles provide a Bible study the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Bethel and Hope meets in each other’s homes. More information can be found in the Women’s Booklet.
Worshiping through music is one of the greatest gifts God has to offer. Here at Bethel we worship through music in the Vocal Choir, Handbell Choir, and our weekly Praise Teams at our Sunday Services. All group ensembles are always looking for more members (no music background required!).
